The Takeovers Panel advises that it has consented to withdrawal of the application dated 1 August 2006 (TP06/70) by Tower Software Engineering Pty Ltd i.e. the Tower 02 proceedings.

The Takeovers Panel advises that it has varied the interim orders made on 22 August 2006 in relation to the application dated 21 August 2006 from Australian Pipeline Limited (in its capacity as responsible entity of Australian Pipeline Trust) and Australian Pipeline Trust (together APT). The application was the subject of Panel media release (TP06/74) and the Panel's previous interim orders were the subject of media release (TP06/77). The Panel proceedings in relation to the application are continuing.

The Takeovers Panel (Panel) advises that it has received an application dated 22 August 2006 from Aztec Resources Limited (Aztec) in relation to a scrip takeover bid by Mt Gibson Iron Limited (Mt Gibson) for all of the shares in Aztec. Mt Gibson gave the bidder's statement in relation to the bid to Aztec on 11 August 2006.

The Takeovers Panel announces that yesterday the Panel in the Tower Software Engineering 01 proceeding commenced proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Pendant Software Pty Ltd.
